35 Volunteers helped to create a very special day in the magical setting of the karri Forest at Birnamwood, Forest Grove, south of Margaret River. Once Sabrina Hahn mentioned the open garden on ABC radio, it was destined for success. Around 200 people came through the gates to wander around the acres of pathways and enjoy the spectacle. The Blackwood dancers performed “Heal the Earth” and Local author Peter Burke launched his intriguing book, Wettening Auralia. As the setting sun filtered through the trees, 2 members of the Scotch College Pipe band, piped the sun down. Attendees bought art, books while enjoying Pierro wines,Westwinds Gin with cheese platters donated and prepared by Hudson & Hughie’s Karen Hughie-Williams.
The efforts raised over $5500 which will go towards purchasing a Group Home apartment.
A very big thanks to all those who participated.
